AmeriCorps, is a community-based, service learning initiative that will recruit, train, and place Members in agencies throughout Middlesex, Bergen, Essex, Union & Monmouth counties, improving the quality of education and community assistance programs. Our positions will allow for individuals to gain experience in, social work, health education, public health, horticulture, urban planning, youth & family development and other diverse career interests. We are looking for eager candidates who are U.S. Citizens, national or legal permanent residents and are over the age of 18. The benefits of becoming an AmeriCorps member are as follows:

Open Part –Time Positions
Community Development
- Garden Coordinator– Helping grow and care for our community garden
- Family Success Center- Develops, coordinates and implements educational, recreational, cultural programs that will benefit the community served by the center.
Health Education & Public Health
- Ez Ride— Helping to create healthy communities by promoting fresh food access, walking and biking, and environmental change.
Academic Assistance & Youth Entrepreneurship
- Assisting young adults to achieve academic milestones such as high school diploma & the pursuit of higher education
- Teaching youth entrepreneurial and financial literacy skills
Eligibility | Are you a U.S. Citizen, National or Permanent Resident? Are you 18 years old or older? Do you have a high school diplo-ma or GED? OR actively working towards completion of one. Full time Members will complete 1700 hours of service in a period of 1 year (35 hours/week) Part time members will complete 900 hours of service in a period of 1 year (20 hours/week) |
